Testing & Remediation

How to test: Perform both of the following tests:
  • Open each webpage in your browser and check the tab or window title bar. You may need to hover over the title in order to see the entire thing. Read it and make sure it's descriptive of the topic/purpose of the page.
  • Check the page source of each page of the site. Within the <head> section of the page, ensure there is a <title> element and that it is accurately descriptive of the topic/purpose the page.
How to remediate: Perform one of the following depending on the current status of your site:
  • Edit the <title> elements so that they are accurately descriptive of the page's content/purpose
  • Add a <title> element to each page and make sure the value of the element is accurately descriptive of the page's content/purpose
