Can AI be used to improve the efficacy of automated scanning?
Question
Answer
We are closely watching for any advancements in the web accessibility AI space as it continues to be incorporated into the world. However, as it stands, there is much room for improvement, and we have consciously not yet incorporated it into our processes. AI can develop into a powerful tool that enhances the auditing experience, but human verification is still the best standard for now.
AI can streamline the auditing process by detecting failures that current automated scanning bots cannot find, like text within an image. However, consistency has proven to be a challenge for the current models. Additionally, some companies, like banks, have expressed security concerns. Sites with sensitive customer information hesitate to replace human auditing with an AI bot going through its software.
We're always rooting for better accessibility processes, so we look forward to the exploration and improvement of the AI space.
