Are there any local improvements we can make to third-party components to support end users as much as possible?
Question
Answer
There are a few powerful improvements you can make to third-party components without involving them. For starters, you can ensure that any component that relies on additional content, such as links, has sufficient context. Beyond that, you should tackle anything with inline code that you can change, for example, decorative image icons within a button. We often encounter decorative image icons within video player buttons that are not coded as such. Editing this yourself resolves the issue while helping you avoid interfacing with the third party. Essentially, editing any inline code by adding ARIA or additional attributes is a great place to start.
