The EAA Deadline is Here. Now What?

The European Accessibility Act (EAA) deadline is June 28, 2025. If you’re unsure what this means for your organization, you’re not alone. But we’re here to help.

In a nutshell, the EAA introduces legal requirements that make accessibility non-negotiable in the European Union, including mandating that products and online services be accessible to people with disabilities.

Here’s how to improve your accessibility game, ensure EAA compliance, and not get left behind again.

Do I need to comply?

If your business is located in the EU, sells or does business in the EU, or even targets EU consumers, you must be aware of the EAA and its digital accessibility requirements.

EAA Accessibility for New Digital Products Versus Old

As of June 28, 2025, the EAA introduces legal requirements that make accessibility non-negotiable for new products coming onto the market.

However, there is a grace period for existing products in some instances. They must become compliant by June 2030.

Of course, this should not be taken as a reason to delay, as accessibility takes time! Early action means fewer retrofits and smoother workflows later.

Accessibility Paths Towards EAA Compliance
