Headquartered at Hula in Burlington, VT.  Hybrid Vermont-based is preferred but remote in US or Canada is also an option.

Job Overview

We’re on the lookout for a passionate and versatile Content & Engagement Manager to join our team and help us elevate the quality and reach of our written, social, and video content—both on our website and across the web. You’ll be a key player in our close-knit marketing team, working alongside talented pros in UX, visual design, digital advertising, and analytics. We’re excited to find someone who’s a master of the written word and brings a complementary mix of skills to help us amplify the conversation around web accessibility and generate interest in our innovative software solutions.

Key Responsibilities & Skills

  • Technical Writing: Build out user guides, playbooks, and processes to help our users leverage our web accessibility tools.
  • Content Creation: Develop compelling copy for websites, blogs, email campaigns, and social media.
  • SEO Optimization: Write and optimize content for search engines, including blog posts and meta descriptions.
  • Customer Engagement: Create onboarding materials, email campaigns, and in-app messaging to enhance user experience.
  • Collaborative Work: Work with designers, sales, and product teams to ensure content aligns with brand and product goals.
  • Social Media: Manage content calendars and create engaging posts to grow our online presence.
  • Editing & Proofreading: Ensure all copy is polished and aligned with brand voice.
  • Content Strategy: Help brainstorm content ideas and refine strategies based on performance metrics.
  • Bonus Skill – Video Production: Assist with creating short video content for product demos, tutorials, and marketing.
  • Bonus Skill – Community Management: Engage with online communities, respond to user questions, and foster community growth.
  • Bonus Skill – Public Relations: Support PR efforts by writing press releases and assisting in media outreach.

Qualifications

  • Passion for accessibility with a strong desire to learn about web accessibility laws, standards, and processes and to continuously develop expertise in this field
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to create clear, concise, and engaging content for diverse audiences.
  • Interest in technical writing, particularly in building user guides, playbooks, and processes.
  • Familiarity with web content best practices, including SEO and keyword optimization.
  • Understanding of social media platforms and content creation for social engagement.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced, startup environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
