  • Non-compliance may be flagged by user complaints and by audits from national enforcement authorities. Each member country has its own designated authority. For example, Italy and France will have different fines and penalties and regulators. 

  • The European Accessibility Act applies to businesses located in the European Union, or those that target or serve consumers in the EU.

  • New products and services should be accessible from June 2025 onwards. Enforcement is now in action. However, a future deadline in 2030 will apply to existing products and services, giving organisations a grace period to ensure complete compliance.

  • The European Accessibility Act (EAA) is a European directive that mandates that products and services must be made accessible, including digital products and services.
